Barcelona – tapas / informal dining
– Mercat de Santa Caterina – near Cathedral / Barrio Gotico old town:
there are a number of tapas bars and a restuarnt that all have good reviews. + You can buy fruits, wine & olive oils. Also not as crowded as the super famous and super touristy market La Boqueria on Las Rambals.
Be sure to check out also the eclectic Gracia District, which has many fun informal options for beer, wine, tapas, coffee ext on pretty plazas. My brother used to live there as did a girlfriend of mine.

You probably know this & no danger but be very careful with skilled pickpockets in crowded places and iPhone thieves who frequent the cool outdoor bars & cafe. Mostly folks from eastern Europe linked to this.
Sorry, cooking class meal is going to be out of the budget range you mentioned.
