This private journey crosses Morocco from the Atlantic to the High Atlas in nine unhurried days. You begin in Casablanca and Rabat, then spend two nights inside the medieval medina of Fez. A private charter flight carries you south to Marrakech, where you choose between a curator-led visit to the Museum of African Contemporary Art Al Maaden and a private presentation of champion Arabian horses. The journey closes in the mountains, with walks below Jebel Toubkal and a kasbah retreat in the foothills. A private driver and your own guides look after you throughout, and your planner shapes every day around your pace.
Walk the medina of Fez and visit Omar, a master leather artisan, in his own workshop.
Fly from Fez to Marrakech by private charter, on the day you explore Roman Volubilis.

A Journey Designed Just for You
Our resident experts wrote this itinerary as a starting point, and your planner shapes every day around your interests, pace and travel style.
What do our American travelers say?
“Our trip was very smooth, organized from start to finish, excellent guides, comfortable transfers, luxury hotels in good locations, well chosen experiences, and all the details handled.”
“We also really appreciated the suggestion and planning of a winery visit. We did not even know that was an option in Morocco, and it turned out to be a wonderful treat and one of the special surprises of the trip.”
The 9-day ultra luxe Morocco itinerary at a glance
The route uses four bases and eight nights: one in Casablanca, two in Fez, three in Marrakech and two in the High Atlas. It opens at Casablanca’s Mohammed V airport and closes at Marrakech Menara, so you fly in and out on an open-jaw ticket. A private charter replaces the longest road day of a classic Morocco loop, and the trip slows as it goes, with three nights in one Marrakech suite and two in the mountains.
The road days stay short. Casablanca to Rabat runs about 1 hour and Rabat to Fez about 2 hours 30 minutes. On day four, Volubilis sits about 1 hour 15 minutes from Fez and Meknes about 30 minutes beyond it, and the charter from Fes-Saïss to Marrakech takes about 1 hour. The Agafay desert lies under an hour from Marrakech, and Imlil in the High Atlas about 1 hour 50 minutes. Each time leaves out stops.
October to May suits the route best. Spring and autumn bring warm days in the cities and clear views of the High Atlas, and winter brings mild, sunny days in Marrakech, snow on the peaks and quiet medinas. The route keeps to the cities, the Agafay and the mountain foothills, which all sit comfortably through the cooler months.
Licensed guides we work with on this route include Mehdi and Youssef, who guide travelers across Morocco. Each is a highly educated local expert who cares about the people in their group. We request your guides by name, and your planner confirms who leads each day once your dates are set.
Why the route flies from Fez to Marrakech
Fez and Marrakech sit most of a day apart by road, and on a classic loop that drive fills a whole day. On this journey a private charter covers it in about an hour, the same afternoon you walk Volubilis and Meknes, so no day goes to the road. The charter flies from Fes-Saïss airport, about 25 minutes from the medina, to Marrakech Menara.
The order follows the map. The route opens on the Atlantic at Casablanca, with Morocco’s busiest airport, and turns inland through Rabat to Fez, the oldest of the imperial cities. Marrakech follows with three nights in one suite, and the High Atlas closes the trip about an hour from the airport for the flight home.

Your planner adjusts every day to your dates.

Day One
Casablanca and the Hassan II Mosque
Your private driver meets you at Mohammed V airport, the busiest in Morocco, and brings you to your suite on the Atlantic. In the afternoon your licensed guide leads a private visit to the Hassan II Mosque, which builders completed in 1993 on a platform partly over the ocean, with a minaret 210 meters tall. It ranks among the few mosques in Morocco open to non-Muslim visitors, on guided tours, and the roof of its prayer hall slides open to the sky. Outside, the Atlantic swell breaks against the sea wall below the esplanade. Dinner is reserved for you in the city. Logistics: Mohammed V airport to central Casablanca by road, about 30 minutes, private driver, then an afternoon with your licensed guide.

Day Two
Rabat and the Kasbah of the Udayas, Then Fez
The road runs up the coast to Rabat, Morocco's capital since 1912. Your licensed guide walks you through Bab Oudaia, the carved gate Ya'qub al-Mansur built between 1195 and 1199, into the blue and white lanes of the Kasbah of the Udayas, and you take mint tea at the Café Maure above the Bou Regreg, with Salé on the far bank. Across town the Hassan Tower stands at about 44 meters, unfinished since its builder's death in 1199, beside the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. In the afternoon you continue inland to Fez and settle into your riad suite. Logistics: Casablanca to Rabat by road, about 1 hour, then Rabat to Fez, about 2 hours 30 minutes, private driver and licensed guide.

Day Three
Fez el-Bali with the Artisans of the Medina
The Idrisids founded Fez between 789 and 808, and UNESCO inscribed its medina in 1981. Your licensed guide leads you in through Bab Bou Jeloud, blue tiles on its outer face and green on the inner, past the Bou Inania Madrasa, which the Marinid sultan Abu Inan Faris built between 1350 and 1355, to the Qarawiyyin and the terraces above the Chouara tannery, where round stone vats hold dyes of poppy red, indigo and henna. Omar, a master leather artisan, welcomes you to his workshop and shows how vegetable-tanned leather is still cut and stitched by hand. In the evening a Fez family welcomes you to dinner in their riad. Logistics: a walking day in the medina with your licensed guide, and your private driver for transfers.

Day Four
Volubilis, Meknes and the Charter to Marrakech
Volubilis lies on a plain north of Meknes, and UNESCO inscribed the Roman town in 1997. Your licensed guide walks you past the basilica to the Arch of Caracalla, which the governor Marcus Aurelius Sebastenus raised in 217, and into the House of Orpheus, where Orpheus plays his harp to the animals on a mosaic floor. In Meknes, Moulay Ismail began Bab Mansour and his son Moulay Abdallah completed it in 1732, with polychrome zellige across its facade. On request, a private lunch follows at a wine estate in the hills near Meknes. In the late afternoon your private charter leaves Fes-Saïss airport, and Marrakech lies about an hour to the south. Logistics: Fez to Volubilis by road, about 1 hour 15 minutes, then about 30 minutes to Meknes and on to Fes-Saïss airport, private driver and licensed guide, then a private charter to Marrakech, about 1 hour.

Day Five
The Medina of Marrakech and a Master Ceramicist
The Almoravids founded Marrakech in 1070 to 1072, and UNESCO inscribed its medina in 1985. Your licensed guide begins beneath the Koutoubia, whose minaret rises 77 meters over the city, and leads you through the Bahia Palace, where Carrara marble paves the grand courtyard, the Saadian Tombs and the Ben Youssef Madrasa, completed in 1564 and 1565 around a courtyard with a long, shallow pool. In his workshop, Jamal, a master ceramicist, takes a piece from wet clay to finished glaze. The afternoon is yours, and at dusk storytellers, musicians and smoke from the food stalls fill Jemaa el-Fna. Logistics: a walking morning in the medina with your licensed guide, and your private driver for transfers.

Day Six
Your Marrakech Choice, Then the Agafay at Sunset
The morning belongs to the private experience you choose. At MACAAL, the Museum of African Contemporary Art Al Maaden, a curator leads your party through a collection built on the Lazraq family's more than 2,000 works of modern and contemporary African art. At Selman, south of the medina, the family's champion purebred Arabian horses are presented for your party, followed by lunch and a visit to the stables designed by Jacques Garcia. Before sunset your private driver takes you into the stony Agafay desert for a camel ride as the light turns gold, then a private dinner under canvas with the High Atlas on the horizon, and Gnaoua musicians on request. Logistics: the medina to MACAAL or Selman by road, about 15 to 20 minutes, then Marrakech to the Agafay, under an hour, private driver.

Day Seven
Into the High Atlas
The road climbs to Imlil, the village at the foot of Jebel Toubkal, at 4,167 meters the highest peak in North Africa. Walnut, apple and cherry trees fill the terraces around the village. Where available, a Berber family welcomes you to their home for mint tea, bread from a clay oven and lunch, with your guide translating. In the afternoon you settle into your kasbah suite in the foothills as the last light leaves the peaks. Logistics: Marrakech to Imlil by road, about 1 hour 50 minutes, then on to your kasbah, private driver and licensed guide.

Day Eight
The High Atlas at Your Pace
Over half of our American travelers ask for light hiking, and this valley holds some of the best walks we know, along mule paths through Berber villages with Toubkal above. Your licensed guide sets the distance around your party. The rest of the day is yours at your kasbah, for a hammam, a massage or lunch on a terrace facing the peaks. Logistics: a morning walk with your licensed guide, then the day at your kasbah.

Day Nine
Departure from Marrakech
The morning stays free for a last mint tea on the terrace with the mountains behind you. Your private driver collects you with time to spare for your flight from Marrakech Menara, and on request our team arranges VIP fast-track assistance through the terminal. Bslama, the Moroccan goodbye, usually comes with an invitation to return. Logistics: the High Atlas to Marrakech Menara airport by road, about 1 hour, private driver.
What does a 9-day ultra luxe Morocco itinerary include?
This one links four settings in eight nights, with top suite categories and one private charter. Day one stays in Casablanca, day two runs by Rabat to Fez, day three belongs to the medina of Fez, and day four combines Volubilis, Meknes and the charter to Marrakech. Days five and six stay in Marrakech, with your choice of MACAAL or Selman and a private dinner in the Agafay, days seven and eight belong to the High Atlas, and day nine is for the flight home.
How does the private charter work?
A private charter means your party has the whole aircraft, on your schedule, with no other passengers. Your private driver brings you to the private aviation services at Fes-Saïss after the day in Volubilis and Meknes, and a driver meets you on arrival at Marrakech Menara. The flight takes about an hour, where the same journey by road takes most of a day. Your planner confirms the aircraft for your party size, and the charter is priced for your dates when you book.
This ultra luxe journey, or another Morocco route?
Choose this journey if you want Morocco’s great cities and the High Atlas in nine days, with top suites, a private charter and experiences arranged for your party alone. The 10-day Morocco journey through Fez, the Sahara and Marrakech suits travelers who want two nights among the Erg Chebbi dunes, and the 15-day Morocco journey covers the whole country from Tangier to Marrakech. The 8-day journey from Marrakech keeps to the south with the Agafay, the High Atlas and the coast at Oualidia. Every route starts from our Morocco destination page, and our team adjusts any of them to your dates.
Who this journey suits
Couples celebrating an anniversary or a milestone birthday. Executives and business owners with one week to spare, since the route fits between two weekends. Families with teenage or adult children who want top suites and a private pace. Collectors and design lovers, who choose the MACAAL visit and the artisans of Fez and Marrakech. Returning visitors who have seen Morocco on a classic loop and now want it at the highest level. Your guide is glad to advise on suitability before booking.
What the 9-day journey costs and what it includes
The 9-day journey starts from $34,484 per person, double occupancy. The from-price covers eight nights in top suite categories, such as a premier suite in Casablanca, a riad suite in Fez, a private riad in Marrakech and a pool suite in the High Atlas. It also covers the private charter from Fez to Marrakech, the private Agafay dinner, your chosen Marrakech experience, a private driver for every transfer and road day, and licensed guides for the visits described.
Four things move the price: the season, since hotels price like airlines and rise with demand over Christmas and New Year, the suite category, the size of your private party, and the experiences you add. Magical Private Travel maintains excellent ratings on Trustpilot and Google’s independent review platforms.

Frequently asked questions about the ultra luxe Morocco journey
How much does a 9-day ultra luxe Morocco tour cost?
This 9-day journey starts from $34,484 per person, based on two people sharing a suite. The from-price covers the route as written: eight nights in top suite categories, the private charter from Fez to Marrakech, the private Agafay dinner, your chosen Marrakech experience, a private driver for every transfer and road day, and licensed guides for the visits described, with the full list of inclusions set out in your written quote. The season matters most, since hotel rates rise with demand, and the charter is priced for your dates and party size. Our team sends a written quote for your dates and party before you commit.
When is the best time for this journey?
October to May suits this route best. Spring and autumn bring warm days in Fez and Marrakech and clear views of the High Atlas. Winter brings mild, sunny days in Marrakech, snow on the peaks and quiet medinas, and the route keeps to the cities, the Agafay and the mountain foothills, which all sit comfortably through the cooler months. Hotels price like airlines, so the Christmas and New Year weeks cost more, while January and February offer the best value. If your dates fall during Ramadan, our guide to the best time to visit Morocco explains how the days change.
What is the MACAAL or Selman choice?
On day six you choose one of two private experiences in Marrakech. MACAAL, the Museum of African Contemporary Art Al Maaden, sits about 20 minutes from the medina, and a curator leads your party through the collection, which suits collectors and design lovers. Selman, about 15 minutes south of the medina, keeps a family’s private collection of champion purebred Arabian horses, and the presentation comes with lunch and a visit to the stables, which suits couples, families and riders. Parties who want both add a day in Marrakech.
Are the driver and the guide the same person?
In Morocco they are two different people. A private driver handles the vehicle and the road, and a licensed guide leads the visits. Your licensed guides lead the visits in Casablanca, Rabat, Fez, Volubilis and Meknes, Marrakech and the High Atlas, and your private driver handles every transfer and road day, with a driver waiting at each end of the charter. Both work for your own party only, and they set the pace around you.
Which airports should we fly into and out of?
Fly into Casablanca’s Mohammed V airport and home from Marrakech Menara. An open-jaw ticket of this kind avoids a drive back to Casablanca at the end, since the route closes about an hour from Marrakech. Your private driver meets you at arrivals in Casablanca and takes you to Menara on day nine. On request our team arranges VIP fast-track assistance at both airports, and aligns the itinerary with your flight times once you book them.
Can we add a night in the Sahara?
Yes, from late September to early May. The Sahara version adds about two days to the journey, with two nights at Dar Ahlam in Skoura and one at its private camp on the Iriki salt lake in place of the High Atlas nights. The camp sits about 4 to 5 hours south of Skoura, and your planner reworks the route and price around it. Travelers who want the dunes of Erg Chebbi look at our 10-day Morocco journey.
How flexible is the 9-day journey?
The route works as a starting point, and your planner shapes it around your party. Common changes include an added night in Marrakech, both Marrakech experiences, a helicopter transfer to the Agafay dinner, a private sunrise balloon flight, or a night on the Atlantic at Essaouira before the flight home. You receive a revised day-by-day plan and price before you commit.
Does this journey suit families or travelers who prefer less walking?
Families travel this journey well, because a private driver and guide set the pace around the youngest and the oldest in the party, and the charter removes the longest road day. The walking stays moderate: the medinas of Fez and Marrakech run on foot along narrow lanes, and the High Atlas walks are set to your party. Your guide is glad to advise on suitability before booking, and our page on accessible travel sets out how our team plans for travelers who need step-free routes or extra support.
Who do we contact if something goes wrong or we want a change?
Your planner designs your journey with you and stays in touch after you land. For the fastest response at any hour, message your private WhatsApp group, where our 24/7 support team works alongside Rachel or Dan. Because we begin no more than five journeys per country each week, peak spring and fall dates fill early, and that limit is what lets us stay this close to every trip.
We keep a list of vetted four- and five-star hotels, well located and enjoyed by our past travelers and by our own team.
