In 2011 we also ran small group trips, however we found that our customers prefer private trips, customized to fit their taste, pace, energy and dates. Here are some excerpt from the USA Today article edited for more clarity.
Several tour operators offer escorted group tours. One such is Magical Spain’s (magicalspain.com) Barcelona to San Sebastian: A Guided Food & Wine Lovers Cultural Adventure. On this tour travelers get to know Spain through Spanish language practice, meeting with local residents and educational food chats. In Barcelona there’s a morning market visit and cooking demonstration. Wine sampling from the “Wine Spectator” top 100 precedes a gourmet dinner. In Bilbao, guests move on to the Rioha wine country, spending two nights in a medieval walled village with underground tunnels and wine cellars. In the coastal town of San Sebastian, local tapas, called pinxtos, and Rioja white and red wines provide an introduction to local fare.
